The role of the cultural sector in promoting attitudinal and behavioural change
Supervisors: Claire Haggett and Nick PriorIf we need to undergo a transformational change to a more sustainable way of being, shouldn't culture be at the heart of it? But what could the role of the cultural sector be in helping people, and society as a whole, change their behaviours?
I am working part-time on my PhD whilst working in the cultural sector on climate change: developing climate strategies for the visual arts, Festivals and the whole sector more widely; running carbon management projects in theatre and the Edinburgh Festivals; and generally providing advice and promoting change and sustainability in the sector in Scotland.
My background is in theatre directing, producing and arts management generally. My first degree was in Philosophy (Edinburgh, 1985) and I graduated as an MSc in Carbon Management (Edinburgh) in 2010.
