My PhD research relates to the ethical and social implications of increasingly data-driven universities and the changing role and activities of universities in digital society. Key concerns include what the data-driven university looks like, who is proposing data and AI futures for universities, and what messages about AI, datafication and ethics are being communicated to students.

My project is funded via the Centre for Technomoral Futures in the Edinburgh Futures Institute, and is co-supervised between Digital Sociology and Digital Education. I also take part in regular cohort activities with the other Baillie Gifford Fellows in the Centre for Technomoral Futures, led by Professor Shannon Vallor.
