Come and send a message of solidarity for Turkish academics facing prosecution for advocating peace

On 22 April, four Turkish scholars and two journalists will be in court in Istanbul to defend themselves against charges of “terrorist propaganda” for signing a January petition titled “We will not be party to this crime!” requesting that the Turkish government resume peace talks with Kurdish representatives. From 10am to 2:30pm that day, we will be at Ground in the Chrystal Macmillan Building, 15A George Square, providing postcards to write your message that will be posted to these activists. Please come along to express your support for academic freedom in Turkey at this difficult time.

As well as sending the postcards you write, we will be tweeting images of your solidarity messages during the day, with the hashtags #raiseyourpenforfreedom #Edinburgh, and #SSPS.
