Much has been written of the crime that pervades the
underworld of the internet driven by the Tor network, cryptocurrencies
and unbounded privacy.

But how much crime is going on on the dark web? Can we quantify it?
Who are using these systems, and why?

When we map the dark web we discover that first impressions can be
deceiving, that counting dark web sites is no easy task, and that
anonymity can be very fragile.

Through these maps we will explore how the dark web has evolved in
recent years, and where it may ultimately end up.
