Honorary Degrees and Graduands
Since 1695, the University of Edinburgh has awarded some 2,700 Honorary Degrees to people of the very highest distinction in their fields and who also have a strong connection with the university and its subject-areas. Honorary graduates are proposed by subject-areas and Schools and their degrees presented as part of the annual cycle of degree ceremonies.
